As the City Democratic Club turns 30, we have much to celebrate. We’ve hosted some amazing speakers and forums over the years and look forward to many more in the future. Our members and officers have included some of the brightest minds in local politics, including staff from every Mayoral administration since our founding. We’ve made pragmatic endorsements in every election since 1980 and have helped elect many of the City’s past and current leaders.

We hope you will help us celebrate this impressive milestone and take the opportunity to join or renew your membership. We’d also like to use this special event to help out with the ongoing relief efforts in Haiti. Accordingly, we are raising money for Doctors without Borders (DWB), and make the following offer:

The first 50 attendees who write a check of $50 or more directly to DWB will receive two complimentary drinks, hors d’oeuvres, a one-year City Democratic Club membership (a $35 value), and be able to claim the entire deduction on your 2009 taxes.

Alternately, simply join or renew your Club membership for $35, and still receive a complimentary glass of wine and snacks. (But seriously, Haiti still needs a lot more help!)

We are also pleased to announce that our Club’s Treasurer, Steve LaPlante, has returned from Haiti where he participated in on-the-ground relief efforts.

CAV Wine Bar is the perfect place for a celebration with great food, wine and atmosphere. Don’t miss this special occasion in one of the City’s finest establishments!

What are you waiting for? Please mark your calendars and RSVP today: citydemclub@aol.com
